How to Automatically Update the Copyright Year on Your Website

Updating the copyright year on your website may not be a legal requirement, but it’s smart marketing. It tells the visitor the site is active. Showing the current year is especially important if you have a brochure site without dates on its content.

You can automatically refresh the copyright year by inserting a simple JavaScript or php script (see below) into your website’s html code.

Entering either script won’t change the year in the Design view of your html editor. To see the results of your handiwork, upload the edited web page to your web server, go to your browser and reload the page. Here’s the JavaScript. Copy and paste it wherever you want the current year to appear:

And here’s the php script:

Yes, the php script is simpler, but it may not work just yet. You first need to take another step to make the php script run on html pages. You need to create or edit a .htaccess file. This is not as onerous as it sounds. It’s actually a good thing, because then you’ll be able to run other php scripts on your site, which can be extremely useful.

Creating the.htaccess File

To set up a.htaccess file, open a new file in a text editor like Notepad or SimpleText.

Paste the following code into the file:

AddType application/x-httpd-php.htm.html

If you have an existing.htaccess file, open it and add the above code.

Alternatively, search your web host’s site for “How to parse php within html files.” Follow its instructions on what code to enter in the.htaccess file. (Your web host might specify an entirely different process for parsing php in html pages. Follow those directions instead of the ones here.)

After inserting the code, in Notepad click File > Save As…

Type .htaccess as the file name and from the Save as type dropdown menu, select All Files.

Click Save, then go back and make sure the editor didn’t add an extension to the filename after.htaccess. If you find an extension, delete it.

Upload the.htaccess file to the root directory of your website. This is the topmost folder of your website’s file structure and is usually named example.com or example.com/home.

The.htaccess file now affects every other file in your website.

Updating Your Blog’s Copyright

Depending on the blogging platform you’re using, you may not have access to the.htaccess file. In that case, use the JavaScript.

Copyright That Spans Several Years

A range of years next to your copyright symbol subtly reminds the visitor how long you’ve been in business or how long your website has been up. Use the script to update the last year of your range.

Copy and paste the following as your copyright notice’s html code. Change 2002 to the year in which your site was established:

Copyright

Hot Wallpapers of Celebrity Models, Actors and Actresses – An Instant Inspiration!

Hot wallpapers of celebrity models, actors and actresses are an instant inspiration for me when I am buckled under the pressure of tight schedules. Being in to the consultancy profession, and with a growing list of quality clientele, I am always as busy as a bee. Inevitably, this leaves me often in an emotional vacuum or rather restless nervousness. Luckily for me, I am a fan to a few celebrities in the show business. These include a few film personalities and a string of models. I have habituated to keep wallpapers depicting one or other of these hot celebrities.

Thus, whether before my computer, or making a call or just listening to a tune in my iPhone, these celebrity images excite me, or rather inspire me and enable me to shed my boredom. In fact, if they are film personalities, their figures would invoke in me some unforgettable scenes from some classic renderings on the silver screen. Instantly I may tune on to some sweet melody from those films that I can pick from the stock that I keep with my device. It is a sort of instant inspiration and that is ready at hand.

Amongst hot wallpapers of Hollywood celebrities, the ones of Angelina Jolie is an instant source of inspiration for me. She is endowed with a rare radiance of matchless glory and the reminiscences of the scenes that she immortalized often leave me in moments of ebullient ecstasies of maddening joy. Angelina with her big juicy lips, bad ass attitude and sexy body makes her one of the most favorite celebrities for many and her hot wallpapers are ever chosen with much enthusiasm. Other Hollywood celebrities whose hot wallpapers preferred by many include Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Lopez or J-Lo, Jessica Alba, Keira Knightley, Carmen Electra, Pamela Anderson and Lindsay Lohan.

Among men, the most preferred wallpapers of Hollywood celebrities include those of Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise, Hugh Jackman, Matt Demon, Orlando Bloom, George Clooney, etc.

Well, hot wallpapers of celebrity models, actors and actresses could be an instant inspiration for many during moody moments. As modern psychological findings reveal, the level of excellence in human endeavour could well be fluctuating depending on the psychic ambience in which the purported activity takes place. That is, when you are in psychological doldrums, the level of excellence in the quality of your work could be law. On the other hand, if you are excited, you mind might enfold uncharted realms of imagination and that in turn could churn out superb thought and work.

An Introduction to the World of USB Wireless Cards

The internet seems to be practically everywhere these days. In your phone, in your gaming console, offered as a standard feature in hotel rooms. It’s all over the place, and more convenient than ever before, and seemingly getting even more impossibly convenient with every passing year. The latest innovation in this area comes in the form of USB wireless cards. If you’ve been stuck with a more old-fashioned wireless card taking up space in your computer, then you might want to consider upgrading. The conveniences of a USB card for wireless internet access are many, and all it costs you is a USB port, which are in increasingly more ready supply these days.

USB wireless cards are, in terms of housing and basic function, the same as any other USB device. They’re small devices about the size of your thumb that can be simply plugged in to a USB port to function on an appropriate computer. Older computers have the USB plug ports on the back, while newer ones put them in the front for ease of use. When they’re not in use, you can keep them in a pocket or small case and carry them around with no real trouble, since they’re so small and lightweight. Originally developed as portable hard drives for storing information, they’re now advanced enough to contain the software necessary for operating various programs, including the ability to hook your computer up to the internet. Therefore we now have internet in a USB drive, rather than just raw information or files, which blurs the domains between computers and their peripherals substantially.

These internet-connecting devices have many advantages over their forebears. Since they’re not permanently installed inside a particular computer, they leave more room in computers for hard drives, graphics and sound cards, and other additions that take up permanent space inside the casing. Also because of this, they can be plugged in to any compatible computer and used whenever and wherever you like, allowing you to separate your internet access from the particular individual computer you’re using at any given moment in time. As a part of the modern, mobile technological world, USB wireless cards let you connect to the internet on your own terms rather than being bound to particular computers. And as a part of this mobility focus, these devices will usually search for any available wireless access point in a given area once plugged in, hooking you up with a minimum of trouble.

For all that power and flexibility, though, you can get these peripheral devices at very low prices since advances in technology have made them cheap to produce. It’s not unusual to find them below thirty dollars. So don’t worry over whether you can afford to take the next step into the internet’s new stage of evolution – you probably can.

Thin Clients – An Introduction

Thin clients can either be a software program or an actual computer that relies on some other computer for its processing and computing work. Software running on client hardware, generally referred to as client software acts as an interface, while the server which is connected to client via network does all the processing. It can also be a computer designed only for online usage, such as sending or receiving of mails or browsing the web. It can also be part of a large network, for example at a company or a school.

Thin client computers have enough hardware for booting and connecting itself to a more powerful network server. Hard disk in thin clients is used for booting, maintaining a swap file and holding the operating system itself. Once booted the operating system runs the script needed to connect client to a server from where it can access its applications and store its files.

In software terminology, a thin client is a program which is mostly interface. The user at the client end of the software sees all the data, tools and features like normal software, but all the work is done by its server counterpart.

So, the question that comes to mind is, if thin clients are not capable of doing anything at its own why would anyone need it? The main reason that companies are switching from traditional computing solutions,to this new architecture is because over the last two years IT budgets have gone down dramatically. Replacing old computers can be little uneconomical and this has led many companies to switch over to thin client architecture. Not only is this architecture economical, it is more secure, environment friendly and longer lasting than traditional computing solutions.

Environment Friendly: Average thin client uses 15 watts of power while its desktop counterpart consumes around 80 watts. When multiplied with numerous desktops running across the building it can be real energy saver.

Longer lasting – Since there are no moving parts in thin clients, they have a longer life span than desktops. Average life of thin-client is around 10 years while that of desktop is around 3 years.

Data Security – Data is stored on a network server, which gives a sense of security against theft as security is beefed up in servers hosting client data.

Cost effective administration – The most promising feature of thin client architecture is cost effective administration. Administrators can manage the clients remotely from a central place. This will result in effective management too, as a single administrator can support 4-5 times more devices than regular desktop.

Modeling On-The-Run – Rapid Prototyping Services

Taking additive manufacturing to a new high, rapid prototyping services project completion easy for many by creating prototypes in the nick of time. Working on the principles used by additive manufacturing technologies, rapid prototyping services manage to create prototypes within limited budgets specified by customers.

SLA – A Rapid prototyping services wonder

Before getting into the actual process of using rapid prototyping services, it is important to understand the customer’s need and what materials and systems should therefore be used in the prototyping.

1. One of the most accurate and practical methods of rapid prototyping services is Stereolithography also called SLA. Stereolithography really works well with limited budget concerns as since the cost of manufacturing is on the lower side and prototype making is a process of approvals and changes, the ultimate cost would still be lesser than might be with other methods of rapid prototyping services. The SLA system can help even tooling engineers to decide on the placement of parting lines or gate locations or even ejector pins. The SLA system uses a laser beam to solidify layers of material in a vat of liquid polymer or SL resin. It uses a computer aided design to guide it on where to solidify. Most often, SLA can produce models in a matter of a few hours depending on the size of the prototype.

Advantage: the lower cost as well as time saving is the reasons why SLA works better than permanent hard tooling. It also produces some of the most clean and accurate forms and the machine itself require little and easy cleaning.

Disadvantage: the finishing of the surface is slightly lacking in smoothness and a detailing. Also, the parts maybe cheaper by require 2 to 3 times the amount of time to actually build.

2. Another rapid prototyping services system is urethane castings. Urethane castings take the process to be slightly higher and detailed level. It produces a more durable model of rapid prototyping. This model actually simulates production material. This system uses liquid silicone to cover the part and submerge it in a pressure chamber to remove all air bubbles. This silicone mould is then cooled and solidified. The mould is then split by a mould technician or cut along the parting line and this is the master pattern that will be used even as a part of the SLA system.

Advantage: This service has been known for its advantages. The fact that it has many advantages has also attracted a lot of attention towards this method and hence it is something that has been used widely today. The efficiency of this service also means that the method has also attracted a lot of attention as well. When several pieces of the same model or part need to be manufactured, urethane castings provide a better and more economical solution. It can also be matched with paint color and texture specifications by inserting mould over mould.

Hidden cameras are widely used nowadays as a means of protecting families and property.

Shopping For a Transcription Machine

Getting the right choice out of many different transcription machines isn’t something you can just do without knowing what to look for. Too many businessmen just grab something cheap or good-looking and assume it will give them the transcription capabilities their job requires. But if you’re a smart shopper, you’ll take a peek into the traits for these products and sort the chaff from the wheat before you do any buying. Buying a transcription machine that doesn’t work well will just interfere with your work and possibly make you look out of touch at the workplace. Instead of dealing with all that, just take a few minutes to think things through before making a final decision on your transcription tools.

There are only a few major companies in this fairly narrow market: Sony, Philips, and Panasonic. And you do want to buy from one of the big companies instead of the little guys no one’s heard of. This is because you’re more likely to get a quality product from a company used to building all sorts of specialized electronics equipment. And if anything goes wrong, the company will most likely have a reasonably decent warranty to help you sort things out. If you buy from a small company, there’s simply no telling what you’ll get. But if you get a bad deal from a major company, then you can at least trust in their well-honed procedures for making it right after the fact.

Then you should look into how portable you’d like your transcription machine to be. Very few of the top models are anywhere near able to fit easily into a pocket. However, some are bulkier than others, even if most of them in general are meant to sit on a desk. If you move around a lot on the job, how heavy and large your machine is will matter, along with how well it might balance on your thigh in a subway or a car. Of course, if you do spend all your time in an office, then this shouldn’t matter much to you.

There are many other details as well that are more specific to this kind of product. What is the machine’s output format? The vast majority of them will use either cassette tapes or microcassette tapes, which are simply smaller versions of the same thing. Whatever you get should be something using a format you’re comfortable and familiar with. Is there a headset, and if so, is it comfortable? Headsets can be the larger sort that sit outside the ears, or buds that fit inside the ears. Is the headset wireless or attached to the machine? How intuitive is actually using the machine, and does it transcribe accurately and clearly?

Once you’ve asked yourself those questions, and answered them in turn, you’ll be in a position to get yourself a good machine for transcribing. Do yourself proud and get an addition to your office that is actually worth the money, instead of buying whatever happens to be there.

Types of Transcription Machines

Anyone interested in transcribing notes for minutes or any other circumstance has a variety of options available when seeking a transcription machine. Currently, there are different means of transcribing information and because of this there are different materials and machines used in the transcription process. There are even machines that are tailored for certain environments to make recording of the spoken word more efficient and accurate. There are different types of machines available so that you can choose which method is most effective.

The most popular machines for transcription are the traditional cassette machines. These machines utilize either a regular sized or a mini cassette which is obtained from a recorder. This cassette contains that audio that will be transcribed by the individual. The machine itself includes volume and speed controls that allow the user to make the volume louder and the speed of the tape slower or faster for personal preference. In addition, these machines usually include a foot pedal. The foot pedal offers convenience to the transcription process. It allows the user to control the entire machine through the use of the pedal. Instead of discontinuing the transcription process to stop the machine with the hands the user can stop the machine with his/her feet and continue typing. Machines that are used for transcription which include a cassette deck are still used when necessary for doctor’s reports that given through a hand held recorder.

Other popular machine is the digital transcription machine. This machine uses the latest in technology to simplify the transcription process. A computer is required for the hardware to work. The audio is derived from a recorder that has a memory chip and the memory chip is used to extract the audio similar to the cassette. The memory chip or the recorder is inserted into the computer in order to obtain the audio file. In addition, in some form of transcription software may be necessary in order for the audio to be downloaded. Sometimes this software is included with the recorder. The user will transcribe the audio via the computer using the foot pedal as the controlling device for the audio, a headset to hear the audio and special transcription software. The transcription software used for digital transcription helps to simply some parts of the process such as recording the amount of time the transcriptionist actually typed the audio and editing. Also, with this option there is the capability of saving the transcription in different formats and it can be sent across different electronic mediums such as email for prompt delivery.

There are also shorthand machines for transcribing purposes. These machines are mainly used for certain arenas such as court reporting where shorthand is needed because of the need for live transcription of information. These machines are small and usually have an attached paper roll. Currently, these machines are being used in conjunction with digital platforms that assist with the transcription process.

The various transcription options provide the user with different ways in which to translate audio data into written form.
